SBlargerLead Grant Writer, Sherry Bruning, has been a professional writer in a variety of fields since 1988 and has authored articles, written website text, written or edited technical manuals, policies and procedures and other copy for a number of industries.  She has been responsible for the project management of numerous successful, complex grant proposals totaling approximately $40 million (ranging in size from $40,000 to $6 million each), has led strategic planning processes for small and medium-sized organizations, and has assisted in program development and implementation.

Her area of expertise includes writing grant proposals related to substance abuse treatment, domestic violence services and capital projects (i.e. construction of recreational facilities, transit oriented development-related projects, library construction, etc.); the development of instruments to gather data, data analysis, grant reporting, and developing continuous quality improvement systems.

image1Susan Ryan comes to grant writing after a 20-year career in corporate marketing, where she worked with a range of internal and external clients, honing her ability to create strategic approaches to communication challenges and initiatives. She brings the ability to manage complex projects, evaluate broad stakeholder input, and deliver programs that meet customer requirements. For the last three years, Susan has been working with nonprofit agencies in both a board and fund development capacity, including writing grant proposals, prospect research, and executing fundraising plans. Projects range from writing proposals for a specific new program, to prospect research and fundraising guidance, to ongoing grant writing and development work. Susan has successfully written grant proposals to expand opportunities for arts groups and to bring new programs to urban public spaces.
